"...May I share a table?" One weekday afternoon, a staff member spotted a woman enjoying tea alone at a cafe somewhere in Tokyo, returning from shopping. She'd stopped off at her daughter's house and done some shopping, and was on her way home. Seeing her smile as she spoke about how she'd been able to see her grandchildren and enjoy some time alone for the first time in a while, the staff member felt something was off and asked to share more with her.
